My Story

I’m Sergio Armani, Founder and CEO of ACG-Clinical, a consulting firm that helps emerging clinical research technology and service companies accelerate growth through strategic sales leadership.

After more than a decade in research technology and commercialization, I founded ACG-Clinical to bridge the gap between the innovative solutions being developed across our industry and the sites, sponsors, and CROs that need them most. I’ve seen talented teams struggle to gain market traction—not because their products lacked value, but because they lacked the structure, strategy, and sales discipline needed to thrive in the clinical research ecosystem.

I work primarily with startups and small, emerging companies navigating the complexities of growth in clinical research. My approach blends strategic commercial planning with operational rigor, helping organizations build sustainable sales engines that drive predictable, scalable growth. Whether I’m serving as a fractional Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), providing focused strategic guidance, or offering training and mentorship to sales leaders and business development directors, my goal is always the same: to help teams build repeatable sales processes that deliver results.

What Drives My Work

I’m passionate about the clinical research industry because I’ve seen how strong commercialization and leadership can bring innovative therapies and technologies to patients faster.

Having worked across the ecosystem—from technology platforms to site networks to sponsor-facing organizations—I understand what drives purchasing decisions, what slows adoption, and how to align commercial strategy with operational realities. I believe growth happens when strategy is clear, execution is disciplined, and collaboration is consistent—principles that guide every engagement I take on.

Industry Leadership and Advocacy

I’ve had the honor of serving on the Board of Trustees for the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP), including past service as Treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee.

One of my proudest accomplishments with ACRP was co-creating the Ride4Diversity—now known as ACRP Rally4Researchers—a multi-day cycling event that raises scholarship funds for individuals from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds pursuing degrees that support careers in clinical research.

The initiative also provides conference scholarships, helping more professionals attend the ACRP Annual Conference free of charge. Together, these efforts have raised over $250,000 to expand access, diversity, and opportunity in clinical research—helping more students and professionals build meaningful careers in this field.What ACG-Clinical Does
